Diversity   Print version

At Dwyer & Collora, LLP, diversity matters.  It informs who we are, how we conduct our workplace and how we give back to the community.

Who We Are
As advocates in the system of justice, it is important to us that our firm reflects the diversity of our society in terms of gender, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation, as well as background, education and experience. The Firm strives to maintain a culture that not only respects the differences among us, but also values those differences as integral to our success as a law firm and a workplace.

Our Workplace
We understand that achieving diversity in the legal profession does not happen by accident.  The firm has invested the time and resources to approach the issue strategically.  This work has resulted in a strategic action plan with clearly defined goals and metrics and on-going training.  Our five person Diversity Committee, chaired by the firm’s Managing Partner and comprised of attorneys and staff, monitors progress and drives initiatives that impact recruiting, retention, mentoring and promotion at the firm.

Reduced and flexible schedules are available to attorneys desiring more balance of family and professional responsibilities.

Our employment law practice insures that the firm stays on the cutting edge of best practices and focused on the equal opportunity issues in today’s workplace.

Contributions to the Community
Dwyer & Collora, LLP has a long-standing commitment to the role of lawyers in the civil rights movement.  For nearly two decades, the firm has served on the Board of the Boston chapter of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights -- the only firm our size to serve -- contributing annual financial support and pro bono service to further its mission to combat discrimination based on race and national origin.  We are steadfastly among the ranks of Boston’s largest law firms in our support of other organizations that promote equal access to justice, including the Greater Boston Legal Services, the Anti Defamation League, the Boston Bar Foundation and the Woman’s Bar Foundation.  The firm is a member of the Boston Lawyers’ Group, a coalition of law firms and government agencies dedicated to achieving diversity in the legal profession through pipeline projects, job fairs, networking and outreach.
