Jennifer Ryan is an attorney at Dwyer & Collora, LLP who represents clients in all of the firm's practice areas, including criminal defense, employment, health care and complex civil litigation. At Georgetown University Law Center, Ms. Ryan participated in the Juvenile Justice and Street Law clinics and was a law clerk at the Youth Law Center, a public interest law firm dedicated to protecting youth in the juvenile system from abuse and neglect as well ensuring that they receive the support necessary to become healthy and productive adults. Her experiences prepared her to be an advocate for juvenile offenders, other criminal defendants and civil litigants. Ms. Ryan has been involved in litigation for over four years. Prior to joining Dwyer & Collora, LLP, in 2006, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert Cordy of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Areas of Representation:

Ms. Ryan is a litigation associate specializing in criminal defense  and complex civil cases in federal and state courts. She represents individuals and entities in all phases of criminal and civil litigation including grand jury and agency investigations, civil and criminal discovery, trial preparations, trials, post-conviction litigation, sentencing, and appeals.  She works on cases involving a wide array of federal and state subject areas including health care, employment discrimination, federal and state false claims, bank and securities fraud, kickbacks, tax evasion, campaign finance violations, public corruption, RICO, antitrust, perjury and obstruction of justice.

Recent Cases:

  • Representation of national bank in $20 million negligent misrepresentation case against independent public auditor. Case arises from audit of borrower’s financial statements which concealed the existence of impaired leases and loans.
  • Successfully negotiated settlement of sexual harassment and gender discrimination claim.
  • Representation of number of individuals in federal Grand Jury investigations of pharmaceutical companies.
  • Representation of controller of company in securities fraud case.
  • Represented technology company in successful mediation and settlement of a trade secret case.
  • Represented former public employee in State Ethics Commission investigation.
  • Representation of syndicate of banks in $50 million misrepresentation case against independent public auditor. Case arises from auditor’s failure to report frauds committed by officers and directors of publicly traded company.
  • Represented chief operating officer in connection with government investigation of medical device company.
  • Represented member of compensation committee and board of directors in connection with a government investigation of stock options backdating.
  • Represented defendant in an OUI, resisting arrest and reckless driving case.
  • Successfully negotiated a severance package for employee of Fortune 500 company.
